Contentment

My first  post here on Blooming for the Lord will be on "Contentment." I'll start with the definition of  the word contentment:

"Contentment~  The state of mind which one's desire are confined to his lot, whatever that lot may be."

We are all supposed to be content. But when choose not to be content were going directly against what God tells us through Paul writings in Philippians. Contentment is a choice! We must remember that. Lets look at some verses about contentment:

"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned that whatsoever state I am therewith to be content."
                                                  Philippians 4:11

This verse clearly states that we are supposed to be content in whatsoever state we are in. Another verse thats clearly telling us to be content no matter what.

"But Godliness with contentment is great gain."
                                             1 Timothy 6:6

This verse states that Godliness with contentment is a great gain. So we are gaining many things by being content. Another reason we should try to be content.

I wanted to share some ways that we could be content. There are many, many ways that we can learn to be content. These are just a few. Feel free to add yours in the comment section.

1) Being content where the Lord has placed YOU. He has a plan thats just for you. And a plan for me too. God's plans may be different in each of our lives but the main thing is that he has given us all instructions on being content with no matter what he sends our way. Yes, I know its easier said than done.

2) Being content with what YOU have. Don't covet someone else things, talents, or life. God made you just the way He wanted to. And His ways are perfect.

3) Don't look at other people's circumstances to pattern your life after. Its fine to have role models and people we admire, as long as they are truly Godly people. We should always seek out God's will for your life. Remember His way is PERFECT.

I would love to hear some ways that you have found to help you be content where God has placed you in your life right now. Circumstances change and God foresees that. What a wonderful thing it is to know that the creator of our universe has mapped out our days and our life circumstances to make us the best we can be for Him! Although there are good times and bad, we are to continue to serve our Lord with gladness and joy and have peace in His timing and will.

I hope you have enjoyed this post! I look forward to posting more post on ways we can encourage each other to seek the Lord. Until next time!

Love and Blessings~

Modesty

Hello everyone! I would like to share with you guys my views of why it so important to be modest. As I was growing up we really didn't start wearing skirts until I was about ten years old. And then after that point my family felt convicted to dressing modest. And as I get older and study more on this subject I feel like modesty is an important part of our lives as young Christian ladies. And I feel like to the outside world being modest and having a good attitude is a good way to of being an example of Christ. And being a big sister I know my younger silblings are looking up to me so it's important for me to be fully covered and not half dressed. Here is some verses I found that I would love to share with yall. The first verse is 1 Timothy 2:9, " In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array. And another thing, modestly is not just about wearing long...
