Hello everyone!
I would like to share with you guys my views of why it so important to be modest.
As I was growing up we really didn't start wearing skirts until I was about ten years old. And then after that point my family felt convicted to dressing modest. And as I get older and study more on this subject I feel like modesty is an important part of our lives as young Christian ladies. And I feel like to the outside world being modest and having a good attitude is a good way to of being an example of Christ. And being a big sister I know my younger silblings are looking up to me so it's important for me to be fully covered and not half dressed. Here is some verses I found that I would love to share with yall.
The first verse is 1 Timothy 2:9,
" In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.
And another thing, modestly is not just about wearing long skirts or dresses, its it about not being overly done; with jewelry or make-up that is so packed that you cant see your real face. Or hair so overly done you look fake. And I am not saying that you wearing a little jewelry or makeup will send you to hell, everyone has their on view of modesty. Its all about following what the Lord leads you to do. If the Lord reveals something to you and you choose NOT to follow it, then it becomes a sin issue. As far as make-up and jewelry goes, if your overly done how will people see the real you? So that is really something for us as young ladies to think about.
Here are some more verses I would love for y'all to look at:-)
Deuteronomy 22:5,
1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
Here is some beautiful sayings that I love on modestly:
"Our outlook and attitude speaks volumes about who is the Lord of our life."
"May we seek for our appearance to accurately reflect the beauty of the one who created us."
" Life is not about rules. It is about the desire to walk uprightly before God in how we dress as young women."
Those quotes were found in KBR magazine. a wonderful magazine for ladies and girls seeking God's will for their lives. It has been a blessing to be able to take the time and share my views on modesty. I would love to hear from y'all. If you have anything to add, feel free to leave a comment below! And feel free to share my blog as much as you all would like. May God bless and keep you. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for posting on this important topic, Jodee! I do think that when we dress modestly, we look different and thus attract attention. We need to make sure that we are holy, humble and righteous on the inside, so that when others look at us, we will shine forth and point them to HIM! :) Thanks again!
