Hello- Todays post will be on memorizing scripture.
Memorizing scripture is very important. God tells us to memorize his word. They are tons of verses on memorizing scripture lets look at a few of them.
"Thy word have i hid in my heart, That i might not sin against thee.

This verse tells us to memorize scripture and hide it in our hearts, So when temptation arises we will have the verse.
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, And is profitable for doctrine , for reproof , for correction , For instruction in righteousness .
2 Timothy 3:16
This verse tells us that all scripture is given by inspiration, and that there are many uses for ALL scripture.
They are many more verse on this subject. Some of the other verses are: Joshua 1:8, Colossians 3:16, Matthew 4:4.
Here are some ways to memorize scripture:
1. Choose a verse to memorize that speaks to something in your life right now.
2. Start by memorizing little verses at a time .
3. Write it down and carry it with you wherever you go, so when you are doing a chore you can get it out and work on memorizing it.
4. Say it outloud.
These are just a few ways to memorize scripture. There are a lot more ways to memorize scripture. What are some ways that you have memorized scripture? Please share in the comment section below. Thank you for sharing, Jodee! Here's one method that someone told me about (or atleast something like this :): if you're wanting to memorize a passage or big section, start with the first verse. Say it eight times, until you can say it without looking at it. Then say the next verse, again until you can say it without looking. Then say the two together, again until you can say them without looking. Then the third. Add the three together and so forth. This way you can memorize big sections! Another method is to put emphasis on words. For example, if you were memorizing from Psalm 23: the Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. First you'd say THE Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Then, the LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. The Lord IS my shepherd I shall not want, etc.
ReplyDeleteI think Bible memorization is very important! Thank you for sharing!
